M TONIGHT WE'RE LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY FROM THE MINNESOTA FISHING OPENER IT'S A FUN AND EXCITING DAY FOR ANGLERS BUT WILL NEED TO MAKE A DECISION ON WHERE THEY WILL FISH THANKS TO THE VERY LONG AND COLD WINTER THE WALLEYE LAKES ARE NOT FULLY OPEN

DNR SAYS THIS COULD CHANGE BY SATURDAY HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE ON A LAKE WITH SOME ICE, DON'T COUNT ON FISHING THE SHORELINE WE'VE HAD LATE ICE, BUT THE WATER AND AIR TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN COOPERATING AND HAVE BEEN WARMING RAPIDLY IN MOST OF OUR LAKES AND WE'LL FIND THAT WALLEYE IN PARTICULAR ARE NOT IN THEIR SUMMER HABITS YET AND HAVEN'T GONE DEEPER AND IN MOST LAKES THEY'LL BE SHALLOWER AND NEAR CREEK INLETS AND RIVER OUTLETS, WHICH MAKES IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO FIND FISH IF YOU ARE HEADING TO A LAKE THIS WEEKEND, THE DNR SAYS IT'S
